Many people are attracted to close quarters airsoft games, also known as CQB for close quarters battle or CQC for close quarters combat. The most commonly used term is CQB, and that is the acronym attached to airsoft guns that are used specifically for these types of games.
In a CQB game, people often play in a village-like area, with several small houses to go through. Sometimes the game takes place in one house, and it often does not take long to encounter the enemy, unlike in longer lasting games like woods airsoft. Different types of airsoft guns are used, primarily MP5s or pistols, as there is no need for long range rifles in such close proximity.
It is preferable that people use less powerful weapons in CQB, since if you use something too strong, the hits would be excessively painful. That is why extra safety precautions have to be taken with CQB, since you are so much closer to the enemy. Oftentimes, if you sneak up behind someone, it is better to force a surrender rather than take the shot. Some games even prohibit people from firing at too close a range.
Despite these minor drawbacks, CQB airsoft is extremely exciting and many people favor it over other types of airsoft. The combat is quick and the games are short, but while it is going on, it is probably the most exciting experience of all kinds of airsoft. As long as you have the right equipment, you can easily and quickly play airsoft.
